There is something truly magical about being set free in a toy store. It is a child’s wildest dream. You get swept off on adventures surrounded by some of your favorite heroes, villains, and characters.
“Each store is unique, but they were all conjured up by the same dreamer, so you’ll always feel right at home regardless of which store you visit. Girls and boys of all ages can spend hours strolling down Lego lane, peeking into Barbie House, visiting Princess Place, browsing Soldier Street or simply just getting lost in their fantasyland."
We were invited to Toy Kingdom South Africa’s Gateway store to experience the joys and excitement of an in-store experience as part of their June, #HeroDad campaign. We were warmly welcomed by all the staff members, and I was immediately challenged to a Hoverboard experience! Keeping in mind, I had never been on one; I think I owned the challenge. I hovered my way through the endless aisles of toys while Gia excitedly ran behind me eager to see what this Hoverboard was all about. So much fun.
I then got to experience flying a drone around the store and made some pretty legendary ducks and dives maneuvering my way through the toys... and the people in the shop. We then moved on to a few fun sessions where we got to build Lego, see who could blow the biggest bubbles, and an egg & spoon race with awesome prizes for everyone at the end. Gia then got to play with and ride anything her heart desired. We spent just over 2 hours in the thrill of being a kid again, and it was such an incredible experience.
As we were nearing the end of our fun morning, Toy Kingdom South Africa topped it all off and spoilt me with a surprise birthday cake that we all shared and ate in-store, putting an even bigger smile on everyone's faces.
A bit about Toy Kingdom
I can see why Toy Kingdom is Africa’s most loved toy store. Their stores aren’t merely retailers; each is a fantasy wonderland which is home to princes and princesses, noble knights and beautiful maidens, fashion dolls and toy soldiers, fairies and gnomes, adventure-seeking explorers and humble heroes.
