"It is really a simple and quick voting system that will have a lasting impact long after you have hit that “vote” button and moved on with the rest of your day."

There is always something so rewarding about assisting charities and Non-profit organisations, and that is why I always get excited about working with one of the country’s biggest fund-raising programmes, MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet. MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet has pledged up to R1 million in donations, and is calling on all of us, South Africans to vote now for our favourite charity or environmental organisation. In the Vote4Charity challenge every vote secures a R5 donation for the organisation of your choice, and if you also share your vote via social media they get another R5. Over the month long campaign, organisations across the country, whether big or small, can secure substantial donations if their supporters cast their votes. So I urge you to jump on board and cast your vote. It will literally take 2 minutes.

The Vote4Charity polls are open at www.myschool.co.za/vote4charity . All MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet cardholders need to do is go online and cast one vote for the cause that matters to them most. If you’re not yet a supporter you can sign up instantly for free. Each and every vote counts as R5 donation, and sharing your vote across your social media profiles doubles the value to the organisation you care about.

For the past 2 years, with the help of MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet, I have been assisting Focus on iThemba. Their mission is to be a catalyst for contagious joy by providing bridges of hope for life-altering positive change by investing in children through quality education. Their focus is strong and their passion to make a difference is real. I made contact with Focus on iThemba’s Donor Relations Manager, Tayla-Anne Goss, and this is what she had to say…

“Focus on iThemba believes in the power of Education and more research is highlighting the significance of the first 1000 days of a child’s life in terms of crucial brain development. Early Childhood Development (ECD) is everyone’s business. We currently work alongside eight crèches in the Valley of 1000 Hills and Molweni areas. The model aims to upgrade existing crèches to become legal and sustainable businesses. The children will receive quality ECD care enabling them to thrive at later Foundation Phase Schooling. The Principals and teachers will receive support, training and mentorship.

Through our amazing MySchool supporters we were able to send a further seven teachers, from the creches we partner with, to attend a NELRU orientation course for ECD Teacher Training this year. This training has far-reaching benefits especially seeing the amazing boost in confidence in the teachers. We are SO grateful for each and every swipe. Please keep on swiping and please vote for Focus on iThemba for the MySchool Vote4Charity!”

It is really a simple and quick voting system that will have a lasting impact long after you have hit that “vote” button and moved on with the rest of your day. Make a difference and take 2 minutes out of your day to vote.

As a finale to the challenge, Vote4Charity will also support each of the three charities with

the most votes by funding the R25 000 production of a professional promotional video. Five

lucky voters will also each win a R5000 Woolies gift card. Now that is something to smile about!

YOUR VOTE COUNTS. EVERY VOTE MATTERS FOR THE CAUSE THAT MATTERS MOST TO YOU.

Visit www.myschool.co.za/vote4charity between the 18th of May and the 18th of June 2018 to cast your vote for your favourite MyVillage or MyPlanet organisation.
